Deadman Lake Campground, Alaska Highway

Bob Jameson – Kenai, Alaska.

Deadman Lake Campground located at milepost 1249.3 of the Alaska Highway offers 15 rustic campsites tucked away in the midst of a spruce forest along a ½ mile long gravel road with a circle configuration in the campground itself. Each campsite offers picnic tables and a fire ring and there are outhouse style toilets available but no potable water. For those with small boats, a boat launch with a small dock is available for launching. Deadman Lake is popular for fishing as it offers excellent northern pike fishing year round.

Deadman campground is operated by the Tetlin National Wildlife Refuge out of Tok, Alaska.
NOTE: Deadman Lake Campground is dry, there is no drinking water available.

Access to Deadman Lake Campground

Located on the north end of Deadman Lake, this campground is accessable by most vehicles as the large circle style offers little obstructions for manuvering. The biggest challenge is in the length of the campsites and thus we suggest that a maximum combined length of 50 feet for trailers and 35 feet for motorhomes should be the longest to attempt this campground.
